CONTENTS – Description of more than 500 plants and animals organized, in alphabetical order; each description is accompanied with an illustration. The manuscript is related to the work of the Greek physician, pharmacologist, and botanist Pedanius Dioscorides, who lived during the reign of the Roman emperor Nero.
LANGUAGE – French.
SCRIPT – Gothic bastarda.
SCRIBE – Jehan Duboys (whose name appears in the beginning of the manuscript) was probably the copyist. He also added comments to the text.
DECORATION – Richly illuminated with 355 images of plants, flowers and roots, 26 images of animals or minerals and 10 farm scenes
STYLE – Renaissance.
